H E Servicing Ltd and Tracksun Ltd design, supply and install Solar PV Tracker systems for domestic and commercial properties in the North of England
How does Solar PV work?
Solar PV works by converting sunlight into electrical power, using a thin layer of semi-conducting silicon material, enclosed in a glass and aluminium frame. When exposed to sunlight the semi-conducting material causes electrons in the silicon to be freed and as they move through the material they produce an electric current known as a direct current (DC). This DC is passed an inverter, which converts it to alternating current (AC) so it can be connected to your property’s electricity distribution board. From there it can be used by you for free or exported back into the national grid to earn you a ‘Feed in Tariff’ income.
How does Solar Tracking work?
The Dual Axis Tracker produces as much as 45% more yield than a fixed PV array. This is accomplished through dual axis tracking of the suns path from day to day and throughout the seasons. The tracking system always aligns the panels with the optimum angle of the sun using the high precision control system to maximise the yield and electricity production. You can monitor the performance via the systems real time communications hub to ensure maximum performance and electricity production.

Kirchner Sonnen Dual Axis Solar Tracker
The Sonnen Tracker is manufactured in Germany and can be fitted with a panel of choice. There are in built safety features to self-protect the tracker against high winds. As wind speed increases the tracker automatically folds down flat to protect itself. The same process happens at night when there is no sun to track.

Solar Tracker in Consett
The Farm Café, Consett has installed the Sonnen Dual Axis Tracker. Owned by John and Stephen Shaw, Hownes Gill Farm currently uses 21, 000 kWh of electricity per annum. This will be reduced by more than 50% with the dual axis tracker producing 11, 202 kWh per annum.
Benefits of Solar PV
- Free electric for your own use.
- Protection against future rising energy costs.
- An income from the Governments feed-in tariff, which pays you an amount per kWh of the electricity generated.
- The feed-in tariff is guaranteed by the Government for 20 years and is index linked and adjusted annually.
- Reduces your carbon footprint.
- Solar PV still generates power on dull days; they simply need light to produce electricity.
H E Servicing are approved installers of the Kirchner Sonnen Dual Axis Tracker as well as Schuco, Romag and Yingli Solar PV panels so are able to specify the best system for your application.
